The Webdemo scripts are written for GNU Octave which is open source. The Webdemos are executed on our web-servers; thus, you will only need to install Octave if you intend to download the source code of the demos and run them locally on your own computer. As Octave's syntax is widely compatible to MATLAB, the Webdemos can in principle be executed with MATLAB as well. Students of the University of Stuttgart can get a free MATLAB licence from the TIK.
