INÜ Researcher Florian Euchner presented the paper "ESPARGOS: Phase-Coherent WiFi CSI Datasets for Wireless Sensing Research" at the Kleinheubacher Tagung 2024 in Miltenberg, Bavaria, September 24-26, 2024.
About the paper:
The paper describes the ESPARGOS system, a low-cost hardware platform for measuring phase-coherent WiFi Channel State Information (CSI) developed at the institute. Put simply, with ESPARGOS, one can build an antenna array that can measure where a wireless signal is coming from, including reflections and scattering in the environment. While the system is not quite as versatile and accurate as our DICHASUS channel sounder, it offers affordable and easy-to-use sensing capabilities compatible with all WiFi devices. To facilitate algorithm development, we have now also started to publish WiFi CSI datasets. These datasets are also suitable for Channel Charting.
