The yearly "Photonic Network Conference" is one of the central conferences for the german-speaking optical communication community. This year, the conference took place at the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig).

The INUE was represented at the conference with one contribution. Sebastian Jung presented a paper entitled "Learning to Exploit z-Spatial Diversity for Coherent Nonlinear Optical Fiber Communication" which tries to exploit solitonic propagation properties of optical pulses using neural networks.
