Hannover Messe is one of the world's largest trade fairs for industrial technology, held annually in Hannover, Germany. With over 4,000 exhibitors and around 130,000 visitors attending, the fair serves as a major platform for companies and research institutions to showcase their latest products and innovations in the fields of automation, energy, telecommunications, digitalization, and other related industries.
As one of the four large German 6G research hubs, the publicly funded Open6GHub, an association of institutions from 17 Germany universities, presented prototypes built by its members at the fair.
Next to prototypes by DFKI and KIT, INUE presented "ESPARGOS", a low-cost WiFi antenna array intended to enable quick prototyping and deployment of sensing applications. Applications of "ESPARGOS" include WiFi-based positioning, human behavior recognition, Channel Charting or performance / channel modelling.
In addition, a short video (below) explained the concept of Channel Charting to a wider audience.
